AI Replaces Humans – A Distant Dream or Reality?

Although machines replaced humans in manufacturing plants, and smart machines replaced humans in doing jobs manually, they have never been able to completely replace humans to run this world. The human mind is very adaptive and creative that has no limits. And therefore, like other technologies in the past, AI also cannot replace humans. But yes, AI professionals have to use AI as a base and use their creativity and ability to build more smart technologies. So, what are the reasons that AI cannot replace humans and how humans can use it to their advantage? Let’s explore.

Reasons why AI cannot replace humans

Lacks emotional intelligence

While AI has made tremendous progress in recent years, it still lacks emotional intelligence, which is a critical factor in many jobs that require human interaction. Jobs like customer service, counseling, or teaching require emotional intelligence. AI lacks the ability to understand and respond to human emotions. Although AI can analyze data and make predictions based on patterns, it cannot understand human emotions or respond to them appropriately. This means that AI is less likely to replace jobs that require emotional intelligence.

AI only works if there is an input of data

If you aspire to become successful in your AI career then you having an AI certification will be a great advantage. And whichever certification program you choose, will focus on machine learning, deep learning, and similar technologies. These are nothing but a technique of feeding input data and training AI models to give algorithm-based outputs. So, if there is no input of data, then AI is useless.

AI’s creativity is restricted to the amount of data it has been fed

Similarly, AI’s entire creativity depends on the amount of data it has. Its creativity is restricted to all the permutations and combinations it can do with the amount of data it already has. So, when it comes to thinking out of the box, AI will hardly replace humans. Therefore, it is said that AI professionals can use AI tools and technologies as a base to develop even more creative and productive tools in the future. It is humans who can take a leap ahead and not the machines.

For example, ChatGPT was said to replace coders and creative writers. But it can only write based on the input data. However, coders and writers can use this tool to enhance their skills in AI jobs or any regular job.

Apart from that there are other reasons to reinforce why AI cannot replace humans such as:

AI does not have soft skills
Humans are required to make AI work
AI can only complement human ability and not compete with it, etc.

Now, incorporating AI entirely in jobs can raise different risk factors. Therefore, AI has to work in injunction with humans. Let’s see what could be at risk due to AI.

Bias and discrimination: AI systems can be biased and discriminatory if they are trained on biased or incomplete data. This could result in unfair treatment of certain groups of people. So, AI professionals need to check and monitor that no biased decisions are made.
Security risks: AI systems can be vulnerable to hacking and cyber-attacks. If an AI system is hacked, it could lead to the theft of sensitive data or the manipulation of the system to cause harm.
Ethical concerns: The use of AI raises ethical concerns around issues such as accountability and responsibility. For example, if the AI system makes a mistake that causes harm then who will be held responsible?
Privacy concerns: Many financial institutions are using AI to make the customer experience more streamlined and back-end operations more efficient. But they possess the risk of private data credential leaks. And therefore, humans need to monitor the same.

AI trends like self-driving car, and fraud detection; all seems cool and exciting unless any mishap occurs. What if the car meets with an accident or instead of fraud detection, you become a victim of fraud as your credentials are exposed? Who is to be blamed and held responsible? Well, this is why AI is not yet a fully reliable technology and AI replacing humans is far from reality. Although AI will replace many unskilled jobs like data entry, appointment bookings, etc. it will create more AI roles. Demand for AI professionals will be greater than ever. Therefore, top AI certifications are recommended for aspirants to make a career in AI. There is quite a lot of time when AI will dominate the world. Till then why not master the AI skills and use them to our advantage?
